In matters of policy, pastors are amenable to our District and Annual Conferences. However, due to the varied means of a pastor's remuneration and our itinerant system we recognize each pastor as self-employed. This has been the policy of our denomination.

CONFERENCE OBLIGATIONS
CONFERENCE DUES: 2007-$5.00 per member plus 3.2% of accessible income.
P.P.F.: The 6% P.P.F. assessment is based upon the base salary and car allowance of the pastor and is a Conference obligation. Each church or circuit is obligated to pay at least 6% of a minimum Student or Supply Pastor salary scale and car allowance whether being currently served or not. The minimum Salary is set forth by the Conference and is stated in the Yearbook. This 6% PPF assessment is not to be considered part of a pastor's benefit package.

STATEMENT ON THE BIBLE Last year’s statement on the Bible presented by Rev. Kenneth K. Smith, spoke to our commitment as Primitive Methodists to the inerrant truth of the Bible, as well as its power to transform the lives of those who through the power of the Holy Spirit come under its influence. Rev. Smith also wrote that under the statement of the Great Commission we are to proclaim those same truths throughout the world. How we proclaim those truths depends on the gifts that God has given to all who have the Holy Spirit dwelling within themselves.

But no matter what our gifts may be, we all have in common one way to proclaim God’s truth, and that is in how we live our lives. I would put forth here that as believers, while we examine the Bible for these truths, we also examine ourselves for evidences of them in our lives. Do we live the Bible?

We are told in 1 Peter 2:12, to “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us.” Jesus lived His life in obedience to His Father and to His glory. He is recorded in John 5:30 as saying, “By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear an my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself, but He who sent me.”

Let us examine ourselves against God’s Word and our Lord’s admonition, to determine if our lives show by example the truths found in God’s Word. For it is only through the Scriptures and in the searching for and finding those truths that we can begin living for Jesus Christ.
