CONFERENCE OBLIGATIONS
CONFERENCE DUES: 2006-$6.00 per member plus 3.2% of total income.
P.P.F.: The 6% P.P.F. assessment is based upon the base salary and car allowance of the pastor and is a Conference obligation. Each church or circuit is obligated to pay at least 6% of a minimum Student or Supply Pastor salary scale and car allowance whether being currently served or not. The minimum Salary is set forth by the Conference and is stated in the Yearbook. This 6% PPF assessment is not to be considered part of a pastor's benefit package.

STATEMENT ON THE BIBLE Each year we Primitive Methodists reaffirm our commitment to the truth and trustworthiness of the Holy Scriptures. Without it we have no stability and no direction. We are like a ship adrift and lost in a vast unfathomable sea and with no map and compass to guide us.

The Bible identifies itself as the “Truth”. Our Book of Discipline says it is “the only true rule of faith and practice”. It is the “Word of God”, a “Light and a Lamp”. It is the “power of God unto salvation”. It is “sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the joint and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”. (Hebrews 4:12)

We believe the Bible is wholly and verbally given to us by God. It was written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. These men were kept from error as they wrote. Its greatest testimony is in its power to transform the lives of men, women and children who come under its teaching and influence. Its Great Commission to us is to teach and proclaim the Gospel of Christ wherever we go. It is therefore incumbent upon us to proclaim this life changing truth throughout the world. Rev. Kenneth K. VALUING CHRISTIAN EDUCATION FOR OUR CHILDREN According to a recent poll, greater than 70% of Protestant evangelically raised children will not return to church after public high school. Less than six percent of teens raised in church admitted to believing the Bible is the actual inspired and inerrant Word of God. Today, greater than 95% of evangelically raised children attend public schools where prayer has been banned, homosexuality is taught as choice and never sin, and where God is forbidden as we teach cultural differences such as the Muslim lifestyle freely. Forecasts for the church in the United States based on the fall away from church in the past three generations estimate the worst-case scenario of extinction of the evangelical church in the United States of America within five generations.

We cannot continue to educate our children over thirty hours per week into the religions of evolutionism and humanism and expect them to magically become disciples of Christ in the few hours we currently have them exposed to Jesus. For this reason, the Primitive Methodist Church of the U.S.A. heartily encourages and endorses Christian education for our children either through Christian institutions or Christian home education. Proverbs 22:3-6 instructs in a single line of thought how important the training and nurturing of our children is for success in life and in relationship with God. “A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it. Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life. In the paths of the wicked lie thorns and snares, but he who guards his soul stays far from them. Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.” (NIV) Even Joseph Stalin recognized the value of early instruction when he said, “Give me a child until he is five and he will be mine forever.”

“He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.” (Luke 16:10, NASU) Our children are our first ministries as believers and disciples of Jesus Christ. It is the essence of why God values the family and also why Satan opposes it so much as is evidenced in the values of the world.

A final word – Jesus’ words: “At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, ‘Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?’ And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, ‘Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.’” (Matthew 18:1-6, NASU)
