In matters of policy, pastors are amenable to our District and Annual Conferences. However, due to the varied means of a pastor's remuneration and our itinerant system we recognize each pastor as self-employed. This has been the policy of our denomination.

CONFERENCE DUES: 2004-$6.00 per member plus 3.4% of total income.
P.P.F.: The 6% P.P.F. assessment on the base salary and car allowance is a Conference obligation, not a payment as a pastor's benefit. Each church is to pay at least 6% of the minimum salary for a student pastor.

STATEMENT ON THE BIBLE
Each year we Primitive Methodists reaffirm our commitment to the truth and trustworthiness of the Holy Scriptures. Without it we have no stability and no direction. We are like a ship adrift and lost in a vast unfathomable sea and with no map and compass to guide us.

The Bible identifies itself as the “Truth”. Our Book of Discipline says it is “the only true rule of faith and practice”. It is the “Word of God”, a “Light and a Lamp”. It is the “power of God unto salvation”. It is “sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the joint and marrow, and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”. (Hebrews 4:12)

We believe the Bible is wholly and verbally given to us by God. It was written by men under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. These men were kept from error as they wrote. Its greatest testimony is in its power to transform the lives of men, women and children who come under its teaching and influence. Its Great Commission to us is to teach and proclaim the Gospel of Christ wherever we go. It is therefore incumbent upon us to proclaim this life changing truth throughout the world.
